Inside the Meeting That Started the Grammys' White Rose Protest

Rita Ora, Kelly Clarkson, Halsey, Dua Lipa, Bebe Rexha, Gary Clark Jr., and Khalid are among the growing list of musicians who will wear white roses to the 60th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday in support of the Hollywood-led Time’s Up movement, working to end sexual harassment.

“For me, the white rose represents solidarity and a peaceful, beautiful show of support,” Ora told InStyle of this weekend's unofficial dress code, which began picking up steam on Wednesday. “Music has always brought people together and has been an outlet for individuals to express all kinds of emotions. It is important that our art form continue to create safe spaces for people to explore these issues.”

Taking cues from Hollywood—which, earlier this month, transformed the Golden Globes red carpet into a nearly unanimous protest of stars dressed in head-to-toe black—the white rose demonstration is the music industry’s effort to rally behind Time’s Up’s mission and raise money for its $15 million legal defense fund.

Gal Gadot Reacts to Wonder Woman's Oscar Nominations Snub

Revlon ambassador and real-life Wonder Woman Gal Gadot stunned at an N.Y.C. event Wednesday when she arrived in an all-black look that managed to work in just about every notable red carpet trend.

Gadot, 32, attended the Revlon campaign event in a floor-grazing halter-cut ensemble from Mugler’s spring/summer 2018 collection. In addition to the garment’s ultra-plunging neckline and fitted bodice, the look finds its uniqueness in gleaming embellishments decorating the chest, a sheer panel stretching across the thigh area, and a flared bottom.

The Israeli actress wore her sleek dark locks at her shoulders for the event and accessorized with a Merlot-colored lip and matching nails.

That evening, Gadot opened up about Wonder Woman’s perceived Oscar snub, telling Entertainment Tonight, “I was very moved and touched by the people who were disappointed that Wonder Woman wasn't nominated, but we certainly never did the movie for that. I think that you can't have it all,” she continued. “We've done this movie and it was received in such an amazing, wonderful way, and we want to stay humble and grateful, and we're going to have another movie, so who knows? Maybe the next one!"

Spoken like a true superhero, Gal!

How Many People Does It Take To Make a Couture Dress?

A dress is a dress, is a dress, is a dress, right? Well, not exactly. Not if said dress is couture. And definitely not if the said dress is Valentino Couture.

Yesterday in Paris, Pierpaolo Piccioli sent his Spring/Summer 2018 couture collection down the runway. The pieces took a breather from the typical uber feminine dresses he shows and instead, appeared modern and almost utilitarian (a fun sentiment when you add the most amazing feather hats ever). It was “a Haute Couture of present times,” the brand said in a press release.

One non-everyday piece that veered more traditional couture was a stand out red dress (how Valentino of them). The dress, “Floriana” is a celebration of the House of Valentino. Made entirely by hand (it’s couture, baby!), the dress was created using a technique known as pagine—which translates to mean “pages.” “The effect is that of the slightly offset superposition that can typically be found in the pages of an open book or between the petals of a flower,” the brand tells InStyle.com exclusively.

The dress, made entirely by hand by six seamstresses from a light organza, has more than 375 Valentino-red scallops. Chic.

Why Is Kendall Jenner Hiding Her Face in This Photo Shoot?

What model completely hides her signature pout away from the camera? Kendall Jenner, that’s who.

The 22-year-old model is the star of Missoni’s summer 2018 campaign and, no, she’s not wearing a bikini, crop top, or even denim cutoffs. Instead, Jenner turned to the brand’s fabulously colorful striped dresses and coordinating accessories, which she owns like a pro in each and every single shot.

Photographed by Harley Weir at White Sands National Park (how picturesque!), the shoot is intended to do more than simply, well, sell you clothing. Angela Missoni teamed up with artist Rachel Hayes and asked Jenner to also model her super-huge patchwork pieces, laid across the sand.

But wait, why can we barely see Jenner’s face, save for one shot in the entire portfolio? It’s for the sake of fashion, people!

She hides beneath a larger-than-life wide-brim hat, which Missoni says are set to look like “umbrellas grazing the shoulder and shielding her from the searing New Mexico sun” and evoke a sense of “mystique and glamour.”

That it does, plus we’re also low-key getting some Dr. Seuss vibes.

So even if you don't feel like actually going to the gym, you can at least look like you burned a few calories while wearing the chic Puma En Pointe collection.
